Erin J's HD Caricature

I had the privilege of creating an HD Caricature for the one and only Erin J. Rexroth. She's a pro photographer based out of the Washington D.C. area and full-time mother as well. She specializes in doing everything at once, while keeping up an incredible portfolio. We went for a somewhat exasperated and in-motion pose with her Nikon in one hand and her baby Harper in the other.

Amy and Tyler's HD Caricature

Seattle Gothic - based on Grant Wood's American Gothic, 1930.  Amy loves fashion and hair, Tyler loves his life as a software and video games tester.  They are my iconic Seattle couple, enough said!

Patty's Pinup Caricature

Patty had a fantastic idea for her HD Caricature: a Betty Boop-style sailor pinup. She sent me great images of her face with hilarious seductive expressions. This further proves that the more invested you are into the comedy, the better the results. Her son, Richard had great results with his expression his HD Caricature as well. Must run in the family.

Raul and Maria Helena's Engagement Caricature

I had to share this story of writer/composer Raul Garcia's engagement gift with his new fiance, Maria Helena. It's best if I just let him tell it:

"The 22nd of February, the day of the engagement, was incredible. All went as planned, the restaurant looked great, empty reserved just for the two of us (friends arrived later). The seafood paella was delicious and the Dom Perignon 1990 (sorry but I just have to rub it in) was... I have no words, it tasted too good.

I had the HD Caricature printed at a specialty shop from the National Geoph, and it looked and still looks amazing. Maria Helena loved it. When the waiter brought the picture she was stunned and wouldn't stop smiling. The music I composed/arranged/designated set the mood smoothly. Once she realized the music was "for her" I pulled the CD from my coat and it was all tears from then on.

All the little but perfectly crafted details made this evening unforgetable and I must thank you for doing such a great job, gracias maestro."

Mike Birbiglia's Caricature

The world waited and we came through.  The official Mike Birbiglia HD Caricature!  I worked directly with Mike's brother Joseph "Joe Bags" Birbiglia and he provided all of the facial photography needed.  The rest was up to me.  As you can see, he's holding a pretzel from his fantastic story of the landfill pretzell he and Joe ate at the U.S. Open.

Special thanks to additional photography: © 2008 Matthew Brush. This is easily one of my favorite HD Caricature I've done.  This is the kind of humor and expression I die for.  I presented these in a design lecture last week and this portrait in particular got an immediate reaction from the crowd.
